ZimInk Instructions

Shake the ZimInk bottle very thoroughly.

Apply very sparingly, but evenly, to a dry foam " ZimInker" stamp pad. You don’t have to apply ink to the whole pad - just enough to accommodate your stamp size.

Spread the ink evenly over the pad with a Popsicle stick or plastic spoon. Allow the inked pad to sit (covered) for at least a few minutes. Longer is better!

Tap the stamp gently into the ZimInked stamp pad. Look at the stamp surface to be sure that the ink has been applied evenly. You want to get just enough ink on the stamp to cover its surface.

Press the stamp carefully onto the surface. Remove the stamp from the surface slowly, bringing it straight up.

TIP: Don't Over-Ink Your Stamp Pad!

Walls, Wood, Terra Cotta, Heavy or Textured Paper

For porous surfaces, apply firm pressure when stamping to achieve even, bright coverage.

Glazed Ceramics, Glass, Glossy Paper

When stamping these slippery surfaces, steady your hand and kiss the surface with the stamp. Practice on disposable plastic plates. Sometimes it helps to allow the inked stamp to dry a little bit before stamping. Wait a few seconds after inking so that the ink will get tacky, and the stamp will be less likely to slip.

Ceramics should be sealed with an acrylic spray or sealer for durability. Or, stamp on ceramic tile or glass windows and don’t seal - you’ll be able to remove the ink later. Stamp kitchen tiles for the holidays, or store windows with featured stamps. When you’re ready to change the decor, just wipe with Zim’s Cleaner/Conditioner!

Shrink Plastic

ZimInk is perfect for shrink plastic! (We recommend Polyshrink(TM)) Fast drying and bright, it can be used to stamp a solid image, or black can be used for an outline stamp. Color the image in with markers or colored pencils - ZimInk won’t run or bleed, and doesn’t have to be heat-set!

Clean Up

When you are finished with a stamp, stamp it on a piece of plain paper. This will remove excess ink before you clean the stamp.

Apply ZimInk Cleaner/Conditioner sparingly to a paper towel and clean only the surface of the stamp. Avoid getting the solvent cleaner on the stamp’s mounting foam.

If you make a mistake, you can remove ZimInk from glass, plastic, acrylic, or metal with the Cleaner/Conditioner and stamp again!

Some GREAT ZimInk Ideas!

Walls & Wood

ZimInk was especially designed for decorating walls and any kind of wood. It’s easy to create a new decor in any room with crisp, clear images and professional looking results. Stamp lush ivy trailing around a doorway, vibrant flowers bordering a window, or whimsical scenes on a nursery wall. Create an elegant metallic gold border. Use ZimInk to stamp cool designs on hardwood floors. A plain, unfinished bookcase becomes a striking conversation piece! You can even paint ZimInk directly onto wood (painted Metallic Gold ZimInk shimmers like gold foil!).

Unglazed Terra Cotta

Flower pots & tiles are easy to stamp with ZimInk because the surface grabs a little bit. Even old terra cotta pots look neat when they’re stamped with colorful leaves and bugs! When stamping a flower pot (or any curved surface), use a stamp that’s suitably sized for the curve - one that’s not too big. As you stamp, roll the stamp towards you while steadying the flower pot. Use a toothpick, Q-Tip, or small paint brush to do touch-ups.

Terrific Terra Cotta

Zim likes to mix up a pale aqua color (green, blue, & white)
to dab on terra cotta for an antique patina look.
After this dries , stamp small images on top of the
background "patina" with metallic gold & copper ZimInk.

Paper!!!

ZimInk is perfect for stamping on all sorts of paper! Stamp ZimInk of glossy paper, then color the image in with water-based markers or a water color wash. The ZimInked image will not bleed or run!

Distinctive & Elegant

Metallic Silver ZimInk on black glossy paper... stamp with a finely-detailed image.

It’s also great for matte paper stamping, especially on exotic and textured papers! ZimInk is highly pigmented & it looks fabulous on velvet paper, pressed flower & bark paper, and even cork!

Naturally Beautiful

Metallic Gold or Copper ZimInk on brown kraft paper, cardboard,

or papier mache boxes...perfect for gift wrap & boxes.

Try adding natural accents like raffia, twine, & dried flowers.

Fabulous Fun!

Try colored ZimInks on papier mache, cardboard and kraft paper, too! You’ll be delighted with the bright, cheerful prints, that you just can’t get with any other ink!

Delightful Decoupage

Stamp bunches of leaves and flowers with ZimInk onto an interesting textured paper. Cut or tear all stamped images out and decoupage them onto a basket or box. ZimInk will hold up well with any type of decoupage sealer or glue!

After your decoupaged creation is dry, you can even add metallic ZimInk embellishments with smaller stamps, a tiny paintbrush, or a sponge.
