1. Sand PolyShrink thoroughly in both directions with 320-400 grit sandpaper.
2. Stamp with ZimInk. Decorate with colored pencils (Zim prefers the rich color of Prismacolor pencils) or artists' chalks/pastels.
3. Cut to desired shape with scissors. Punch holes as needed (to attach jewelry findings) with a paper punch.
4. Bake PolyShrink on cardboard for approximately 5 minutes in a preheated toaster or kitchen oven at 275 to 325 degrees, or heat with a heat gun until it curls, shrinks, & lays flat. If you are shrinking with a heat gun, you'll need to gently hold down your piece with a wooden skewer or chopstick (to keep it from blowing away!).
5. Your final piece will be about 40-50% the size of the original, and nearly 1/8" thick. Colors intensify and pigments are permanently bonded into the surface during baking.
6. Lightly spray an acrylic sealer on each completed piece. This is not necessary when PolyShrink is stamped with ZimInk. GlassKote can be applied to the finished piece, too, for a thick, crystal clear finish.
7. Attach pin backs and earring posts with Ultra Thin Bond.
